Over the past year my hair grew out a lot, but it was not really healthy and the ends were so dry I could not handle them anymore. I had all the dry bits cut a couple of days ago and decided to grow it out again, but prefer quality over quantity this time around.
I love using natural oils in my hair, but lately it just seemed that washing them out (it takes quite a couple of washes to do it, especially with the coconut one) was damaging my hair even more and drying it a lot too. So, to prevent hair breaking, I decided to do the same thing I do to my nails. Seal them.
Well, not literally of course, but kind of, yes. For example, I almost never leave my house without putting some clear varnish on my nails. It really prevents them from breaking and becoming flaky. I've been doing it for a year now and they grow longer and faster than without the polish. So now I thought I'll do the same with hair.
I found this silicone-based serum that I use for my hair now. It has only been a couple of days, but I really like it. It does not make my hair greasy at all and makes it look very polished. It has a gentle smell of vanilla and you need just a tiny drop, so it will last me a long time. I put it on the very ends, not even the bottom half as my hair is naturally oily and it works wonders. I'll keep you posted on how it goes!
